Bernice Landrum Barley

Mrs. Bernice Landrum Barley of 2086 Deer Run Road, Halifax, VA died Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Woodview. She was born in Halifax County on October 30, 1934 and was 78 years old. She was the daughter of the late Polly Landrum and Mamie Satterfield Landrum and was married to Clyde Wayne Barley Sr. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church. Survivors include: Her husband Clyde Wayne Barley Sr. of Halifax One daughter Linda Pittman and husband David of South Boston One son Michael Toombs and wife Vicki of Halifax Four step children Clyde Wayne Barley Jr. of Norfolk Dale Chaney of Afghanistan Gail Burnett of Danville Renita Kencoski of Chatham One sister Jenny Noblin of South Boston Two brothers David Landrum of Danville Doug Landrum of Halifax Four grandchildren She was preceded in death by one son, Curtis Toombs Jr. and two brothers, HB Landrum Sr. and Joseph Landrum Sr. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Christian Church with Rev. Bill Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Monday night from 7-8:30 PM and other times at the home.
