Kathryn Crenshaw Satterfield

Mrs. Kathryn Crenshaw Satterfield of 2062 Deer Run Road, Halifax, VA passed away Friday, August 9, 2013 at her home. She was born in Halifax County on June 3, 1916 and was 97 years old. She was the daughter of the late Major Crenshaw and Ruth Osborne Crenshaw and was married to the late Ernest Earl Satterfield. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church where she was a former Deaconess and Sunday School Teacher. Survivors include: One daughter Carol Privette of Halifax One son-in-law Garnett Stephen Clark of Clarksville Three grandsons Willie Ray Privette, III of South Boston Ryan Stephen Clark and wife Tennille of Chase City Taylor Crenshaw Clark of Clarksville One great grandson Jacob Ray Privette of Halifax Two great granddaughters Jessica Hunter-Rae Privette of Halifax Chloe Grace Clark of Chase City Two sisters Millie Rodia and Nancy Duffey of South Boston A number of nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by one son, Ernest Bryant Satterfield; one daughter, Dale Robin Satterfield Clark; four brothers, Archer, John, Dorsey, and Maxwell Crenshaw; and four sisters, Margaret, Billie, and Mary Crenshaw, and Martha (Becky) Conway. A graveside service will be held at Pleasant Grove Christian Church Cemetery on Tuesday, , August 13 at 2:00 PM, 2013 with Rev. Issacc Mooneyham conducting the service. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Monday evening from 7-8:30 PM and other times at her home.
