Roy Swanson Hatcher, Jr.

Roy Swanson Hatcher, Jr. of Harmony Road, Alton, VA, and formerly of Scottsburg died Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Halifax County on May 10, 1938 and was 75 years old. He was the son of the late Roy Swanson Hatcher, Sr. and Lorene Powell Hatcher. He was a member of Scottsburg Baptist Church and was a Livestock dealer. Survivors include: One son William Franklin Hatcher and wife Willa of Alton One granddaughter Beth NicoleThrockmorton of Roanoke One brother Cecil Wayne Hatcher and wife Linda of Scottsburg One sister Barbara Ann Hatcher Shaver and husband Jerry of Danville He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Hatcher Wilkerson A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Oakland Cemetery, Scottsburg, with Rev. Jennifer Shaver Clatterbuck officiating. Mr. Hatcher may be viewed by the public at Powell Funeral Home from Wednesday until Friday prior to the funeral.
