Leroy Martin Crawley

Mr. Leroy Martin Crawley of Alton, Virginia died Monday, July 15, 2013 at his home. He was born in Halifax County, Virginia on November 12, 1935 and was 77 years old. He was the son of the late John Emmit Crawley and the late Gladys Elwyn Martin Crawley and was married to Carol Ann Rupp Crawley, who survives. He was a member of the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, a graduate of Halifax County High School and Virginia Tech. Worked as a Social Service Case Worker, Martinsville, VA.; Juvenile Probation Officer, Alexandria, VA; Counselor with Virginia Vocational Rehabilitation, Alexandria, VA; Counselor with Virginia State Correctional Facilities from which he retired in 1998. He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran and a Russian linguist. Kirkpatrick & husband Daniel of Falls Church, VA Grandchildren: Selena Jade & Brett Malynn Seate of Virginia Andrew Thomas, Wade Robert, Lauren Elizabeth & Graham David Crawley of Honolulu, Hawaii Maika & Jun Ito of Tokyo, Japan Daniel Alexander Kirkpatrick of Falls Church, VA Sister-in-law: Pat Crawley, widow of DeWitt, of Aiken, SC Beloved nieces & nephews Preceded in death by Two Brothers John Emmit Crawley, Jr. & wife Ruth Ernest DeWitt Crawley Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 11:00 A. M. at the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bonnie Pizzeck officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
