Mrs. Christine Cook Witt of 1727 Irish Street, South Boston, Virginia died Thursday, July 11, 2013 at her home. She was born in Waynesboro, Virginia May 7, 1923 was was 90 years of age. She was the daughter of the late John Cook and Mintie Powell Cook and was married to the late William Earl Witt. Mrs. Witt was a member of First Baptist Church, South Boston, Virginia. Mrs. Christine Cook Witt is survived by One Son William D. Witt of Nellysford, VA One Daughter Betty Witt Dooley of North Myrtle Beach, SC Four Grandchildren Seven Great-Grandchildren Two Great-Great-Grandchildren One Brother Vinton Cook & wife Mary June of Waynesboro, VA One Sister Jean Hatter of Lyndhurst, VA ***Preceded in death by Five Brothers, Douglas, Phil, George, John and Oscar Cook One Sister, Dorothy Anderson One Great-Grandchild, William Douglas, Witt, Jr. Funeral Services will be held at Powell Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Susan Davis officiating. Graveside Services will be held in the Rockfish Valley Baptist Church Cemetery in Nellysford, VA at 1:00 P. M, Sunday with the Rev. Dave Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home for one hour prior to the service.
