Mrs. Merlene Wade Hardie of Halifax, Virginia died Tuesday, July 09, 2013 at the Halifax Regional Hospital. She was born in Halifax County, Virginia on March 25, 1936 and was 77 years old. She was the daughter of the late Jimmy Thornton Wade and the late Ozelia Hendricks Wade and married to the late John William Hardie for 58 years. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church. Mrs. Merlene Wade Hardie is survived by: Two Daughters Dale H. Sparks of Halifax Donna H. Henderson and husband L.W. of Oak Level Son-in-Law Dan C. Monette of Chesterfield, VA Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren Scott Adams of Halifax Joey Adams and wife Stephanie and their son, Jace of Halifax Kevin Henderson and wife Crystal and their children, Maci, Bailee and Addilynn all of Halifax Brian Lee Henderson and wife Cathy and their child, Brinlee of Halifax Sara Beth Glass and her son Alex of Halifax John Collins and Leigh Monette of Chesterfield, VA One Brother, Malcolm Wade and wife Sue of Evington, VA Special Aunt, Dorothy Gilliland of Nathalie Preceded in death by one daughter, Denise Monette Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bryant Wilbourne officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetry.
