Mrs. Shirley Shields Perkins of 1068 Union Church Road, Halifax, VA died at Halifax Regional Hospital on Saturday, June 22, 2013. She was born in Halifax County on January 3, 1938 and was 75 years old. She was the daughter of the late Edward Thomas Shields and Dolly Moore Shields Barbour and was married to Harvey Matt Perkins. She was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include: Her husband Harvey Matt Perkins of Halifax Two daughters Rhonda Perkins Wilborn and husband Michael Ray of South Boston Robin Perkins Cordova and husbsand Thomas of Taylor, TX One sister Betty Shields Moorefield of Newport News One brother Edward Louis Shields of Newport News Two grandsons Adam Blake Wilborn and Cody Bryant Wilborn She was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Gunn Shields A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Halifax Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dr. Jimmy McMillian officiating. The family will receive friends at her home.
