William "Bill" Cecil Moore, Sr.

Mr. William "Bill" Cecil Moore, Sr. of South Boston, Virginia died Saturday, June 8, 2013 at his home. He was born in Halifax County, Virginia 0n August 10, 1945 and was 67 years old. He was the son of the late Isaac Cecil Moore and the late Helen Keesee Moore. He was retired from the Halifax County Public School System. He was past -president of the Dixie Youth baseball organization and primary caretaker of the Carter and C. H. Friend baseball fields for many years. He was also instrumental in the development of the Day Complex. For many years Bill was the ICT teacher at the Halifax County High School and also represented the Halifax County Schools in the Danville, Pittsylvania County and Halifax County Tech Prep Consortium. Mr. William "Bill" Cecil Moore, Sr. is survived by: Two Sons Billy Moore of South Boston Ricky Moore of Butner, NC One Granddaughter Sydnie Marie Moore One Sister Diane M. Castleberry of Richmond, VA One Niece Michelle Vigor Special friend, Kim Hastings Memorial Services will be held Saturday, June 15 ,2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel.
