Nina King Mauck

Mrs. Nina King Mauck, 102, passed peacefully on June 3, 2013 at Fairhaven Retirement Community in Sykesville, MD. She was born April 14, 1911 in Eden, NC to the late Jesse Herman King and the late Sally Grogan King and was married to the late Archie Leo Mauck. She was former member of the Main Street United Methodist Church and served actively in various capacities of the church. She retired from Virginia Telephone & Telegraph Company. Her main enjoyment in life was her church and her family, but she also enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers and walking. At the age of 75, she completed a 10 mile marathon. She is survived by: Two Sons: Kenneth W. Mauck and wife Lavon of Richmond, VA Jerry L. Mauck and wife Janet Burke of Dayton, MD Two Grandchildren: Ashley M. Meads and husband Chad of Richmond, VA Erin M. Riddle and husband D.C. of Johnson City, TN Seven Great Grandchildren Preceded in death by: Three Sisters, Eva King Price, Sue Joe King Wese and Mary King Snead One Brother, Homer "Bud" King A memorial service will be held on June 15, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Oak Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Rigg presiding. The family will receive friends at Main Street United Methodist Church immediately following the service.
