Orie Christopher Baynes

Mr. Orie Christopher "Sonny" Baynes, Jr. of 10163 James D Hagood Hwy, Clover, VA passed away May 2, 2013 at Daytona Beach, Florida. He was born September 1, 1943 in Halifax County, VA and was 69 years old. He was the son of the late Orie C. Baynes, Sr. and the late Virginia Bebber Baynes and was married to Jane Sadler Baynes. He was a retired supervisor with Georgia-Pacific, a member of Clover United Methodist Church, an avid hunter and fisherman, and a horse enthusiast. His favorite moments were fishing on the "Waterproof" out of Ponce Inlet, Florida and fishing with other special friends in the Chesapeake Bay. Survivors include: His wife Jane Sadler Baynes of Clover One daughter Lisa Baynes of Danville Two sons Chris Baynes and wife Kristy of Ormond Beach, FL Craig Baynes and wife Teresa of Clover One sister Nancy Arthur of Lawrenceville Four grandchildren Harley Baynes and Hunter Baynes of Clover Caitl in Johnson of Clays Mill Austin Warren of Ormond Beach, FL Special companion "Bisquet" A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Powell Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Norman Talley conducting the service. Burial will follow in Clover Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home Monday evening from 7-8:30 PM and other times at his home.
