James Gray Davis

Mr. James Gray Davis of Scottsburg, Virginia died Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Grayson County, Virginia on June 3, 1929 and was 83 years old. He was the son of the late Reginald Clare Davis, Sr. and the late Gladys Mae Moore Davis and is survived by his wife, Leta McCormick Davis. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from the Beta Company, The Craddock-Terry Shoe Factory and the First Baptist Church, South Boston, Virginia. Davis of Aberdeen, MD Douglas Davis of Churchville, MD One Sister Marlyn Crouse of Sparta, NC Preceded in death by: One brother, Reginald Clare Davis, Jr. Two sisters, Barbara Davis and Iona Hagen Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg McCormick and the Rev. William "Bill" Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, May 3, 2013 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at his home.
