Larry Wayne Fears, Sr.

Mr. Larry Wayne Fears, Sr. of Halifax, Virginia died Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Halifax County, Virginia on September 9, 1946 and was 66 years old. He was the son of the late Jimmy Fears and the late Novella Crews Fears and married to the late Mary Baylous Fears. He was a member of the Winns Creek Baptist Church and a Major with the Halifax County Sheriff's Department, where he worked for 35 years. He was also a member of the National Sheriff's Association. Mr. Larry Wayne Fears, Sr. is survived by: One Son Larry Wayne Fears, Jr. of Halifax One Granddaughter Brianna Fears of Halifax One Grandson Jacob Poteat of Halifax Three Brothers James E. Fears and wife Ann of Halifax Macon N. Fears and wife Linda of Halifax Kenneth L. Fears and wife Aleta of Scottsburg Preceded in death by: One brother, Bobby Eugene Fears Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Winns Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Kopco officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 5:30 until 6:30 P.M. in the Winns Creek Baptist Church fellowship hall and other times at his home, 2090 Winns Creek Road, Halifax, VA 24558.
