Mr. Armstead Boyd "Joe" Glover, Jr. of 1308 Friend Avenue, South Boston, VA passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013 at his home. He was born in Victoria, VA on March 8, 1928 and was 84 years old. He was the son of the late Armstead Boyd Glover Sr. and Minnie Dillard Shelton Glover and was married first to June Rose Morgan Glover who predeceased him in death and then to Mildred Owen Thomas Glover who survives. He was a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia School of Pharmacy, was the former owner of Boston Drug in South Boston, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he was a former Deacon and Elder. Survivors include: His wife Mildred Owen Thomas Glover of South Boston One daughter Susan Lynn Glover of Richmond One son Armstead Boyd Glover III and wife Teresa of Buffalo Junction Two grandsons Bradley Shelton Glover and wife Janna of Amelia and Brian Boyd Glover of Buffalo Junction One stepson Michael Thomas and wife Nancy of Harrisonburg One brother Richard Wade Glover of Henrico County, VA One sister Juanita Shelton Angelini of Oxford, CT He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy G. Lacy and Nancy G. Moore A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 3013 at 11:00 AM at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Melvin Bradshaw conducting the service. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7-8:30 PM at Powell Funeral Home and other times at his home.
