Rev. Robert Merrill Hurd, Jr.

Rev. Robert Merrill Hurd, Jr., born February 6, 1958 at Johnson Air Force Base, Japan, entered his eternal life unto his Lord Jesus Christ on January 13, 2013. Rev. Hurd pastored several SBC churches and served as volunteer chaplain at Halifax Regional Hospital. He is survived by his mother Shirley Klugh; his father Robert Merrill Hurd, Sr., his step-mother Carol Sue Hurd; his wife Melanie, his son Nathaniel Hurd and his wife Shere, his daughters Racheal Satterwhite and her husband Glenn, Alicia Hurd, and Lauren Hurd; four grandchildren, Jacob, Philip, and Matthew Satterwhite, and Kennis Hurd; along with two sisters Debra Gonzales and and Mary Jo Lane. At 54, Robert lived a happy and purposeful life striving each day to serve the Lord God with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength. He left behind a legacy to those he left behind - one of putting God first and loving his neighbor as himself. As the Lord leads, his family will continue to serve God remembering the man who taught them that walking with their Lord should be their first priority in life.
