Patricia Roark Short

Mrs. Patricia Roark Short of Nathalie, Virginia died Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Halifax Regional Hospital. She was born in Halifax County, Virginia on July 9, 1935 and was 77 years old. She was the daughter of the late Randolph Roark and the late Helen Hall Roark and married to Rufus W. Short, who survives. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Republican Grove where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She was a retired school teacher from the Pittsylvania County School System. She is survived by: Her Husband Rufus W. Short of Nathalie Two Daughters Lisa Short Thomas of Nathalie J. Denise Short of Fredericksburg, VA Three Sisters Nancy Roark Price of Mt. Dora, FL Janet Roark Williamson and husband Barry of Charleston, WV Kathy Roark Nance and husband Tom of Madison Heights, VA One Brother Joseph R. "Buddy" Roark and wife Emily of Martinsville, VA A number of nieces , nephews and special friends Preceded in death by: One brother, Keith Randolph "Randy" Roark Funeral services will be held Monday, December 31, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. the First Baptist Church of Republican Grove with the Rev. Shelton Miles and the Rev. R.G. Rowland officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Lisa S. Thomas, 12172 L.P.
