Ophelia Wilmouth Epps

Mrs. Ophelia Wilmouth Epps of Dan River Church Road, South Boston, VA died Friday, December 21, 2012 at The Woodview. She was born in Halifax County on November 23 1922 and was 90 years old. She was the daughter of the late Oscar Wilmouth and Etta Gravitt Wilmouth and was married to the late James David "Jimmy" Epps, Sr. She was a member of Dan River Baptist Church. Survivors include: One son Henry O. Cole and wife Clevie of Scottsburg One step-son Jimmy Epps Jr. of Halifax One sister June Williams of South Boston Three grandchildren Six great grandchildren Preceded in death by five sisters, Myrtle Wilborne, Baby Ford, Ethel Wilborne, Virginia Dixon, and Garnett Mills and three brothers, Tom Wilmouth, Fenton Wilmouth, and Craddock Wilmouth Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Gibson conducting the service. Burial will follow in the Dan River Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home one hour prior to the service and other times at the home of Henry and Clevie Cole, 1031 Terry's Bridge Road, Scottsburg, VA 24589.
