Virginia Norman Patterson

Mrs. Virginia Norman Patterson of South Boston, VA died Sunday, December 16, 2012 at the Somerset. She was born in South Boston on January 14, 1914 and was 98 years old. She was the daughter of the late Wariner Winfield Norman and Lena Rye Norman and was married to the late Von Hindenburg Patterson Sr. She partnered with her husband with several business enterprises and was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. Survivors include: One daughter Giny Patterson Cole and husband Harper of Cary, NC One son Von H. Patterson Jr. of Charlotte, NC Eight grandchildren Fourteen great grandchildren One great great grandchild One sister Elizabeth Thaxton of South Boston One sister-in-law Peggy Norman of South Boston She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Judith Sorrell, sisters, Mary Lena Satterfield, Sarah Gibson, Nancy Henderson, and Gladys Cavanaugh and brothers W.W. Norman Jr., A.G. Norman, Bruce Norman, and Walter Norman. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Oak Ridge Cemetery with The Very Rev. Susan Grimm conducting the service. The family will receive friends at Trinity Episcopal Church on Wednesday from 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM.
