Mr. Aubrey Lacy Carter of South Boston, Virginia died Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Halifax County, Virginia on October 31, 1926 and was 86 years old. He was the son of the late Charlie Edward Carter and the late Lillian Edwards Carter was married 52 years to Jeanette Landrum Carter who survives. He was a member of the Olive Branch United Methodist Church and a WWII Army Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post 8. Aubrey worked at VEPCO for over 40 years, as a lineman and safety supervisor and retired in 1987. He was an avid bowler, golfer and hunter in his life. He was inducted in the South Boston Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 2002.
