Mrs. Jennye Emma Lee Hall Thaxton of Halifax, Virginia died Saturday, October27, 2012 at her home. She was born in Halifax County, Virginia on October 16, 1922 and was 90 years old. She was the daughter of the late John Edward Hall, Sr. and the late Florence Ingram Hall and married to the late Lewis Boyd Thaxton, Sr. She was a member of the Beth Car Baptist Church where she was the longest standing member, Sunday school teacher and Vacation Bible school teacher. She was a Girl Scout Leader and worked with the Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts. She was a member of the Halifax Woman's Club and former member of the Halifax Garden Club. She also was a volunteer at the Halifax Elementary School and activities director at the Berry Hill Nursing Home. Mrs. Jennye Emma Lee Hall Thaxton is survived by: Two Daughters Linda T. Jones Two Sisters Joyce Pyle of Halifax Mildred Redd of Halifax ***Preceded in death by: One son, Lewis Boyd Thaxton, Jr. One sister, Evelyn Farmer One brother, John Hall, Jr. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 2, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Beth Car Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Michael Parnell officiating. Burial will follow in the Halifax Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at her home.
