James William Yates

Mr. James William "Willie" Yates of Clover, Virginia died October 7, 2012 at the Duke University Medical Center. He was born in Halifax County, Virginia on October 18, 1922 and was 89 years old. He was the son of the late James Hartford Yates and Blanche Chaffin Yates and was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary "Bobbie "Terry Yates. He was a member of the Rodgers Chapel Baptist Church, was a World War II, Army Veteran and a retired Tobacco Farmer. Mr. James William "Willie" Yates is survived by: A number of nieces and nephews and His Rodgers Chapel Church Family ****In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by: Three Sisters: Lois Yates Noblin Norma Yates Snead Alice Ann Yates Five Brothers: Otis Rose, Sr., Charlie Yates, Rodger Yates, Elmer Yates and Mickey Yates A Graveside Service for Mr. James William "Willie" Yates will be held at Rodgers Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 11:00 A. M. with the Rev. Aubrey Heath officiating. The family will receive friend at Powell Funeral Home, Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 7:00 to 8:00 P. M.
