Mrs. Mary Emily Severson Mandel of South Boston, Virginia died Wednesday, October 03, 2012 at Berry Hill Health and Rehab Center in South Boston, Virginia. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland April 24, 1935 and was 77 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Joseph Severson and Benedicta Cameron Severson and is survived by her husband George William Mandel, Sr. Mrs. Mandel was of the Episcopal Faith. Mrs. Mary Emily Severson Mandel is survived by: Her Husband: George William Mandel, Sr. of South Boston One Daughter: Shirley Mandel of South Boston One Son; Paul Mandel & wife Karen of South Boston Four Grandchildren: Rebekah Hudgins of South Boston Joshua Mandel & wife Kristi of Minneapolis, Minnesota Rachel Espinosa & husband Sam of Lynchburg Sarah Mandel of South Boston Three Great-Grandchildren One Sister: Gloria McLewee of Pennsylvania One Brother: Thomas Severson of Pennsylvania ***She was preceded in death by: One son, George William Mandel, Jr. Two Great-Grandsons, Jacob Andrew Hudgins & Lucas Samuel Espinosa A Graveside Service will be held for Mrs. Mary Emily Severson Mandel Friday, October 5, 2012 at 11:00 A. M. with Doug Bowen, minister of the South Boston Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, from 9:30-10:30 A. M. at Powell Funeral Home
