Joseph Luck Chandler, Sr.

Mr. Chandler was one of the founders of Carter Bank and Trust Company where he served on the Board of Directors. He served on the War Memorial Planning Commission, was a member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans, was a past Vice Chairman of the Halifax Industrial Development Authority, was past President of the Halifax Country Club, was past President of the South Boston Shrine Club, was a 32nd degree Mason, was a past Commander and a past Adjutant of American Legion Post 8, and past President of the Turbeville Ruritan Club. Mr. Chandler participated in the planning and start-up of the Westinghouse Plant, and was a retired executive of ABB Small Power Transformer Division.
