Lewis Henry Tidwell

Mr. Lewis Henry Tidwell of 1229 Cage Trail, South Boston, VA died Wednesday, January 25, 2011 at his home. He was born in Halifax County on august 1, 1946 and was 65 years old. He was the son of the late Willie Lewis Tidwell and Elsie Comer Tidwell and was married to Velma Quillian Tidwell who survives. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Survivors include: His wife Velma Q. Tidwell of South Boston Two daughters Dorothy Elaine Ellis and husband Robert of South Boston Crystal M. Malechek of West Point One Son Charles Lewis Tidwell and wife Christina of Williamsburg One sister Betty T. Hill and husband Willie of Williamsburg Four brothers Paul Tidwell, Johnny Tidwell, and David Tidwell all of Williamsburg Kenneth Tidwell of Lebanon, MD One special sister-in-law Aleta Smoot of Hopewell One niece Michelle Upton of One brother-in-law Barry Smoot Five grandchildren Rebecca Ellis, Kaitlyn Tidwell, Haley Tidwell, Kelli Williamson, and Justin Williamson Special kids Rhiannon Upton of Hopewell Deanna and Dakota Loftis of Scottsburg He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason M. Tidwell A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marco Smith conducting the service. Burial will follow in the Grace Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home Friday evening from 7-8:30 PM and other times at his home.
