Mrs. Shirley Augusta Carter Collie Mrs. Shirley Augusta Carter Collie of 2012 Piney Grove Road, Alton, Virginia died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at The Woodview. She was born in Halifax County, Virginia September 10, 1919 and was 92 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Johnny Green Carter and Fannie Stanfield Carter and was also preceded in death by her husband Wayman Taylor Collie. Mrs. Collie was a member of Olive Branch United Methodist Church. Mrs. Shirley Augusta Carter Collie is survived by: One Daughter: Nancy Collie Hatcher & husband Dewey of Halifax, VA Four Sons: Johnnie Lee Collie, Sr. & wife Virginia of Alton, VA Carroll Collie & wife Vicky of South Boston, VA Donnie Collie & wife Laura of South Boston, VA Ronnie Collie & wife Barbara of Alton, VA A number of Grandchildren A number of Great-Grandchildren Funeral Services for Mrs. Shirley Augusta Carter Collie will be held at Olive Branch United Methodist Church Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 2:00 P. M. with the Rev. Bob Woodfin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home Friday, from 7-8:30 P.M. and other times at the home.
