Helen Fenwick Wilson Conner, 91 passed away January 17, 2012. She was born January 29, 1920. She was the daughter of William James Wilson and Genevieve Hamilton Wilson, and was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Ott Conner of South Boston, Va. and her brother, Horace Gallahan Forlines of Virgilina, Va. . She had been adopted at the age of two and became aware that she had a brother at the age of 26, after which they were reunited. She is survived by her brother's daughter, Betty Griffin and her husband Heiter of Virgilina Va. And their children Theresa Davis and husband Randy; and Horace Lee Griffin and his wife Jean Marie. She is also survived by her late husband's nephews and nieces: Joan Cox of Wilmington, De; Russell Brown of Galena, Md; Conner Walls and wife Constance of North Fort Myers Fl; Phyllis Dahn and husband Edward of Port Charlotte, Fl; and Martha Insinga and husband Vincent of Sun City, Fl. Also surviving is her step-son, Dr. George F. Munro and wife Judith of Brighton, Colorado. Mrs. Conner retired after a 41 year career with the American Red Cross. Having served as a Social Worker for the Albemarle County/ Charlottseville, Va Chapter; the Chester, Pa Chapter and the Portland, Maine Chapter. She was a resident of South Boston, Va for many years and was active in the Womens Club and the Garden Club. She was an active participant in establishing the War Memorial in Halifax, Va. She was most recently a resident of Stratford House, Danville, Va. There will be a memorial service at Trinity Episcopal Church South Boston, Va on Monday, January 23, 2012, at 11:00 AM, Burial will be arranged by Foard Funeral Home of Elkton, Md. With burial, next to her husband, Philip Ott Conner, in Bethel Cemetery, Chesapeake City, Md. In lieu of flowers memorials to St John's Episcopal Church, Halifax, Va. Or Trinity Episcopal Church, South Boston, Va, or the South Boston/Halifax Museum.
