Annie Irby Lacks

It is with great sadness that the family of Annie Maude Irby Lacks of Virgilina, VA announce her passing on February 3, 2023.  She was born in Halifax County, VA on July 23,1918 and was 104 years of age.  She was the daughter of the late Ottie Irby and the late Annie Loftis Irby. She was married to the late Carlton D. Lacks.

She was a member of Aaron’s Creek Baptist Church.  Through her many years she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and a dear friend to many.  She will be remembered in love by all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held Monday, February 6, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Aaron’s Creek Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Robert Pruitt officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday, one hour prior to the service in the Aarons Creek Baptist Church starting at 1:00 P.M.
