Barbara Snodgrass Cage of Halifax VA died peacefully at her home on January 18, 2023 after a brief illness due to a fall and surgery.
She was a couple of weeks shy of her 96th birthday and with a smile on her face, expressed that she had had a good life.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Dani Cage and is survived by her children Robin Cage, Barbara H Cage, Fielding and wife Carla Cage, grandson Fields, wife Joy, 2 great grandchildren Autumn and Finn, loving nieces Catherine Cage and Andrea Salmond, nephews Michael Cage and Steve Salmond.
Mrs. Cage grew up on the tennis courts at the Beverly Hills Hotel where her father Harvey Snodgrass was the tennis pro for 30 years. As an excellent player herself, she won many tournaments included the women’s singles title in Virginia.
She moved to Halifax after marriage where she raised her four children. She loved the town and people and resided in the same home for the remainder of her life.
Mrs. Cage was the County Registrar for over 20 years. Upon retirement, she enjoyed traveling, gardening, and helping her children in their businesses and pursuits.
A private service for the family will be held at a later date.
