Bertha Seamster Mitchell

Mrs. Bertha Seamster Mitchell of Halifax, VA passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022. She was born in Halifax County on February 20, 1942 and was 79 years old. She was the daughter of the late James William Seamster and the late Ruby Moore Seamster and was married to the late Benjamin Franklin Mitchell Sr. She loved cooking, watching TV and especially adored her family and friends. She was very good at embroidery and cross stitch. Survivors include: Two sons Benjamin Franklin “Frankie” Mitchell and wife Deborah of South Boston William Garland “Bill” Mitchell of Halifax One sister Telia S. Conner and husband Chuck of Cluster Springs One granddaughter Maisey Mitchell and fiancé Joshua Clark of South Boston One niece Jennifer Conner Kirby of Wake Forest, NC A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barry Fero officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at Powell Funeral Home for one hour prior to the service and other times at her home, 1101 Mountain Road, Halifax, VA.
