Betty Rogers Vaughan Nelson

Betty Rogers Vaughan Nelson of Clarksville, VA and formerly of South Boston, VA passed away February 13, 2019.  She was born in Halifax County on October 11, 1937 and was 81 years old. She was the daughter of the late Page Haskins Vaughan, Sr. and the late Mary Booth Vaughan. She was married to the late Chandler Anderson Nelson, Sr.   She was an active member of First Baptist Church of South Boston where she did the Advent decorating for years. She was also a former member of the South Boston Garden Club, was a member of the Paul Jones Cotillion Club, and was active in the South Boston Bi-Centinneal Celebration years ago.     Betty Nelson is survived by: Her Children Beth Nelson Diamond and husband David of Clarksville Mae Nelson Spruill and husband David of Clarksville Chandler A. “Channie” Nelson Jr. and wife Nelly of Virgilina Three Grandchildren David Nelson Jennifer Garrett Mary Vaughan Spruill Four Great Grandchildren Chance Nelson, Lili Elizabeth Diamond, Chloe Garrett and Oliver NelsonA sister-in-lawDoris Ann “Dot” Nelson ***Preceded in death by*** Her Grandson Chandler A. “Andy” Nelson, III, and her brother, Page Haskins Vaughan Jr. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 15, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.
