Billy Wayne Ligon, a devoted servant of God and a loving father and grandfather peacefully transitioned to his eternal home on March 25, 2025, in South Boston, VA at the blessed age of 92.
Billy was a beacon of faith, known for his unwavering belief in God and his commitment to living a life of service and compassion. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and unwavering hope. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and afterwards went to work with Blue Ribbon Creamery as a milk truck driver until his retirement.
Billy Wayne Ligon is survived his daughter, Tammy Maria Ligon of Scottsburg, one Grandchild and three great grandchildren. Also survived is his brother, Alfred D. Ligon of Scottsburg and cousin, Melissa Nortz of Richmond, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hassie Ligon and Gracie Watts Ligon; his beloved wife, Margaret Geneva Taylor Ligon and their son Robert W. Ligon.
A memorial service to celebrate Billy's life will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 5:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Byrum officiating.
The family will receive church members at his home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060.
