Mr. Bruce Wendell Satterfield of Halifax, VA passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022. He was born in Halifax County on June3 20, 1933 and was 89 years old. He was the son of the late Edward Osborne Satterfield and the late Hallie Tuck Satterfield and was married for 55 years to the late Alice Reese Satterfield. He was a member of Dan River Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and a member of the senior group. He also was a US Army Veteran serving his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of American Legion Post 8 and served on the Honor Guard for many years. Survivors include: His daughter Brenda Satterfield LeCocq of Danville His brother James Satterfield of Mechanicsville Brother-in-law| Wilson Reese and wife Sylvia of Halifax He was predeceased in death by five sisters, Emily Redd, Edna Slaughter, Estelle Wilkerson, Norella Harris, and Angie Williams and three brothers, Osborne Satterfield, Otis Satterfield, and Edward Satterfield. A funeral service will be held at Powell Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dr. John Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at The Virgilina Cemetery with Military Rites. Visitation Will be held at Powell Funeral Home for one hour prior to the service Those wishing to give memorials should consider The Halifax County Rescue Squad, 700 Hamilton Blvd., South Boston, VA 24592
