Carrie Ann Edwards Conner

Carrie Ann Edwards Conner of 3080 Cherry Hill Church Road, South Boston, VA passed away on February 27, 2025.

The daughter of the late John Thomas Edwards, Jr. and the late Iris Frances Hash Edwards, she was born in Franklin County, VA on November 6, 1935. She was married to the late Irvin Green Conner.

 In July of 1977, Carrie became a devoted member of Cherry Hill Methodist Church, serving often as Sunday School teacher, and for thirty-eight years as church pianist.

 Graduating from Halifax County High School in 1954, she began a secretarial career in 1955 with Edmund H. Eitel Management/Personnel Consultant, followed with the Halifax County Sheriff’s Department, Shapard Oil Company, Daystrom Furniture Company, and in 1968 was one of the first two local employees hired at Westinghouse Electric Corporation where she served as executive secretary to the general manager for twenty-nine years, retiring from Westinghouse/ ABB in 1997.

 Carrie Conner is survived by her son Morgan Scott Conner of the home; her sister Charlotte E, Trent (Marvis) of Halifax; niece Charlotte Ann, Trent of South Boston; nephew Marvis C. Trent, Jr. (Cindy) of Lynchburg; Step-daughters Judy C. Boyd (Woodrow) of Bullock, NC and Joan C. Rogers (Mark) of Timberlake NC; brother-in-law Donald R. Conner of Danville; her beloved Cherry Hill Church Family; and very special friends Patsy Harris, Kim Seate and Ruth Pool of South Boston, and Bonnie Rickman of Sunbury, Ohio,

 A graveside memorial will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. at Cherry Hill Methodist Church Cemetery, 2153 Cherry Hill Church Road South Boston, VA with Mitch Conner officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
