Charles Edward ‘Eddy” Salley, III of Halifax, VA passed away June 29, 2021. He was born in Halifax County, VA on May 25, 1944 and was 77 years of age. He was the son of the late Charles Edward Salley, Jr. and the late Lois Trickey Salley. He was married to Jo Ann Blackstock Salley who survives.
He was a member of Dan River Baptist Church, he was a 24-year veteran of the United States National Guard and retired as a Sgt. First Class. A longtime member of the American Legion Post 8 where he served on various committees, retired tobacco farmer and retired from Maddox/Davenport Oil Company. Eddy was a character and a one-of-a kind person who was well known and never met a stranger and will be remembered fondly.

A funeral service will be held Friday, July 2, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Dan River Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond Wooten officiating. Burial to follow in church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at his home.
