Daniel Holman Elder

Daniel Holman Elder of Vernon Hill, VA passed away January 19, 2020.  He was born in Newport News, VA on November 4, 1952 and was 67 years of age. He was the son of the late Gerald Elder and the late Elenora Holt Elder. He was married to Coral Minnix Elder who survives.

He was of the Baptist faith. Daniel was a United States Marine Veteran and served during the Vietnam Era, afterwards he worked for the South Boston Police Department and was a VASAP Instructor. He was a Boy Scout Leader and Unit Commissioner.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alfred Chandler and Dave Clark officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, one hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home.
