Delores "Lois" Harper Guthrie

Delores “Lois” Harper J. Guthrie of Nathalie, VA passed away January 23, 2023.  She was born in Anderson, SC on November 2, 1939 and was 83 years of age.  She was the daughter of the late Johnny Harper and the late Marie Wright Harper.   She was married to James R. “Jim” Guthrie who survives.

She was a member of Church of God in Lynchburg, VA.  Lois retired from the Halifax County School System as a bus driver where she drove for over 30 years.  She loved her job and the children she drove.  Lois will be remembered in love by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Chapel.  A graveside service will follow Friday at 1:00 P.M. in Fort Hill Cemetery, Lynchburg, VA.

The family will receive friends Thursday,  one hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home.
