Diane Puryear Eaton

Diane Puryear Eaton, age 74 of Halifax died Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston. She was born in South Boston, September 28, 1948, to the late Richard Lawrence Puryear, Sr. and the late Lucille Elliott Puryear. Diane had physical disabilities most of her life, she was admired for her courage and perseverance in keeping her independence. Survived by her daughter Kelly Arendall Hill of South Boston and granddaughter Abby Kathryn Hill of Blacksburg, VA, brother Richard L. Puryear and wife Mary of Kernersville, NC. Also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins, and her special felines Desiru and Boo Boo. Special thanks to her caregivers Alice Sims and Jennifer Lacks for their special and wonderful care, Special thanks to her former husband Oliver Arendall, and the staff South Boston Rehab and Halifax Regional Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 20th at 3:00 p.m. at Powell funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
