Donna Barksdale Carr, a beloved member of the community, passed away at her home on December 18, 2023. She was born on December 24, 1959, in Halifax County to the late Olden Lacy Barksdale and the late Dorothy Short Barksdale. Donna dedicated an impressive 25 years of her life working as constitutional officer at the Treasurer's Office & Commissioner’s Office.
Donna's impact extended beyond her professional career, as she was a member of Catawba Baptist Church. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found solace in her spirituality. In her free time, Donna pursued various hobbies that brought her joy and fulfillment. One of her passions was quilting. With skillful hands and a creative mind, she would meticulously stitch together beautiful quilts that became treasured heirlooms for her loved ones.
