Earl Bailey "John" Saunders

Mr. Earl Bailey “John” Saunders of Nathalie, VA passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at his home. He was born in Halifax County on Sept. 16, 1935 and was 86 years old. He was the son of the late Ed Isaac Saunders and Estelle Overstreet Saunders and was married for 59 years to the late Jewel Dodson Saunders. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Millstone where he taught Sunday School for over 50 years. He loved his mules, hunting, fishing, searching for arrowheads, and cutting wood. His true passion was farming. Survivors include: Two daughters Kathy S. Reese and husband Phil of Paducah, KY Judy S. Glass and husband Andy of Nathalie Two grandchildren Jonathan Reese and friend Suzie of Paducah, KY Rebecca Gish and husband Tylor of Paducah, KY Great granddaughter Peyton Marie Reese Two sisters Nancy Foster of Waynesboro Jean Farmer of Chase City A host of nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by siblings, Alice Saunders, Pat Saunders, Luke Saunders, Jimmy Saunders, and Mabel Hudson A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Millstone with Rev. Kristopher Cook and Rev. Barry Fero conducting the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
