Edward "Edd" John Edmondson

Mr. Edward John “Edd” Edmondson of Clover, VA passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.  He was born in Halifax County on May 25, 1933 and was 89 years old.  He was the son of the late Ivory Thomas Edmondson and the late Sally Russell Edmondson and was married to the late Joyce Crews Edmondson.

 

He was a member of Clover United Methodist Church and was a retired Deputy Sheriff with the Halifax County Sheriff’s Department. Edd was an avid Washington Commanders fan and a NASCAR fan, especially of Richard Petty.  He loved working in his garden and raising his cows. Edd touched many lives in his lifetime and will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah E. Moses and husband Ross of Durham, NC.  He was also preceded in death by 6 siblings.

A graveside service will be on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Clover Cemetery with Rev. Kerry Halbert officiating the service.

 

The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Saturday from 9-10:30 AM.
