Elizabeth Forlines Smith

Elizabeth Forlines Smith of Virgilina, VA passed away July 8, 2020.  She was born in Halifax County, VA on March 28, 1942 and was 78 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Charlie W. Forlines and the late Frances Wilborn Forlines. She was married to Wayne E. Smith who survives.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Elizabeth retired from SunTrust Bank after many years of service and upon her retirement she became a dedicated volunteer of the South Boston-Halifax County Museum, and Midway Volunteer Fire Department where she is a Life-time Member. She was a talented quilter and won many ribbons for her work, and donated many of them to be used as fund raisers for various organizations.  Elizabeth enjoyed being around people and brought joy into the lives of everyone she met.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Norman Talley officiating. Burial to follow in Grace Baptist Church Cemetery with Fireman Rites.

The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home.
