Emanuel Edward "Eddie" Hess, Jr.

Emanuel Edward “Eddie” Hess, Jr. of Vernon Hill passed away April 27, 2024 at the age of 70.  He was born in Russell County, Va on January 22, 1954 to Emanuel Edward Hess, Sr. and the late Anna Pearl Ray Hess.  He was married to Debra Hughes Hess who survives.

He was a member of County Line Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, an avid supporter of the church, and a prayer warrior. Eddie retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation after many years of dedicated service.  He loved life and especially hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors, but first and foremost he loved his LORD and SAVIOUR.  He was also a member of Liberty Hunting Club where he enjoyed the fellowship of fellow hunters.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at County Line Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike McDowell and Rev. Donald Link officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at his home.
