Frances Arthur Blanks

Frances Arthur Blanks of South Boston, VA passed away July 7, 2020.  She was born in Halifax County, VA on May 17, 1925 and was 95 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Edward Lee Arthur and the late Dora Scott DeJarnette Arthur. She was married to the late Ryland Thomas Blanks.

Frances was a member of First Baptist Church of Republican Grove and loved her church. She will always be remembered as a woman who cared for and helped her community, her church, her family, and her friends. She was a homemaker, which for many seems easy, however Frances was one who always had time to lend an ear or a hand to those in need, who made sure her family was taken care of, and who exemplified the picture of a godly woman;  Proverbs 31: 17 She girds herself with strength, and makes her arms strong. 20 She opens her hand to the poor, and reaches out her hands to the needy. 25 Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. 26 She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. 27 She looks well to the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness."

A graveside service will be held Friday, July 10, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Republican Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Shelton Miles officiating.
