Frances Snow Jones Snead departed this life on July 30, 2023. She was born March 20, 1935 in Person County, NC and was 88 years old. She was the daughter of Luther Hampton Snow and Mary Tatum Snow that preceded her in death. Frances was married to George Hampton Jones for 44 wonderful years. Then married to William Robert Snead, Sr. who she spent 13 joyful years. Both preceded her in death.
Frances was a member of South Boston Church of God for many years where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Frances had a special place in her heart for her church and her church family. Frances loved spending time on the front porch visiting with friends and family. She was a rock and will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Frances S. Jones Snead is survived by one son, Douglas Alan Jones, and wife Patsy R. Jones of Rougemont, NC. Daughter-in-law, Kay P. Jones of Mebane, NC. Five Grandchildren, David A. Jones and wife Crystal of Halifax, VA. Jennifer P. Jones of Mebane, NC, Laura Beth Todoroff and husband Max of Durham, NC. Taylor Jones of South Boston, VA, and Hannah Jones of Rougemont, NC. Five Great Grandchildren; Rebecca Jones and Samantha Jones, Sophia Jones-Moore, Gavin Colbert, and Brooks Todoroff. Sister-in-law, Bonnie Snow, Brother-in-law Jimmy Hite (Carmen) along with many nieces and nephews.
Four Stepchildren; William Snead, Jr. and wife Linda of Clarksville, VA, Jimmy Snead and wife Cheryl of Marietta, GA, Carolyn Bransby, and husband Mike of Alpharetta, GA, Joanne Woodruff of Elon College, NC. Ten step grandchildren, eleven step great grandchildren and three step great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by two sons; Ronald Hampton Jones and Gary Lee Jones. Siblings; Roger Snow and Patricia Hite.
A funeral service will be held on August 2, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at South Boston Church of God with the Rev. Terri Johnson and the Rev. Dave Webb officiating. Burial to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at South Boston Church of God from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. and other times at her home.
