Gail McCrary Carter

Gail McCrary Carter (aka GG) of Chesapeake, VA formerly of South Boston, VA passed away August 21, 2024 at the age of 85. She was born September 1, 1938 in Salisbury, NC to the late Lyman Swepson McCrary and the late Frances William Smith McCrary. She was married to the late Jerry Thomas Carter for almost 60 years.

 She was a member of the Gravel Hill Baptist Church. Gail retired as a legal secretary after many years of dedicated service. 

 Left to cherish her memory One Son: Thomas Lyman Carter (Ronita) of Chesapeake, VA, Two Grandchildren: Danielle Carter Francisco (Nathan) of Cleveland, TN and Dylan Thomas Carter of Chesapeake, VA, Three Great Grandchildren: Jonas Gray Francisco, Ryder James Francisco, and Lainey Bird Francisco.

A memorial service will be Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joey Tucker officiating. 

 The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
