George Joseph Scheier Sr.

George Joseph Scheier Sr. of Buffalo Junction, VA passed away October 31, 2018.  He was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 16, 1927 and was 90 years old. He was the son of the late Stephon Joseph Scheier and the late Josephine Knollmyer Scheier. He was married to the late Lucy King Scheier.

He was a member of Jeffress Baptist Church at Boydton, VA and former Fire Chief at Turbeville Volunteer Fire Department.  He is remembered by many having enjoyed a life-long career as a superintendent for JE Burton Construction Company and was justly proud of the company’s many accomplishments. He was also a United States Army World War II Veteran.

A Celebration of His Life will be held Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. T. Wayne Daniel officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday, one hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home.
