Georgia Ann Reeves High

Georgia Ann Reeves High of Scottsburg, VA went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 31, 2024 at the blessed age of 93. She was born in Halifax County, VA on June 18, 1931 to the late Joseph Lacy Reeves and the late Eliza Willie Howerton Reeves. She was married 52 years to the late Albert Lewis High. 

 Georgia Ann was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church for 85 years, where she served as Sunday School Teacher, sang in the choir, and served as Church Clerk for 50 years, Flower and the Hospital Visitation Committees and volunteered at the Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. She believed in being the hands and feet of Christ by serving others; she would bake bread every Friday and deliver to the shut-ins, she would visit the hospital, nursing homes and assisted living weekly. In 1994 she was recognized as Outstanding Woman in the Community Award by the Tri-River Charter Chapter. She was a member of the Scottsburg High School Class of 1948, and they regularly met at her home. Georgia Ann loved tending to her flowers and was known far and wide for cooking and baking. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

 A funeral service will be held Sunday, November 3, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. at Bethel Baptist Church the Rev. Anthony Reeves, Rev. Sean McGuire, and Rev. Mike Allen officiating. Burial to follow in church cemetery.

 The family will receive friends Sunday, one hour prior to the service and after the graveside in the church fellowship hall.
