Gloria Jean Baker Rose

Gloria Jean Baker Rose, 76, of Halifax, VA passed away June 29, 2023.  She was born in Petersburg, VA on August 22, 1946 to the late Archie F. Baker and the late Catherine Epes Baker.  She was married to the late William W. Rose for 46 years.

Gloria spent 31 years as a Civil Service Employee working with the Quartermaster’s School, at the Quartermaster Center, Troop Support Agency, 4^th Transportation Brigade, Germany, and Logistics Support Agency, PA. She also worked 12 years in Administration at Pamplin Historical Park.

She was a lifelong member of Second Presbyterian Church, Petersburg, VA where she taught Sunday School, worked with the youth, and was an elder of the church.   Gloria was an avid knitter, and loved sharing her gift with others, especially making blankets for the residents of the nursing home.  She loved Christmas and collecting Santa Clauses.  Gloria will be missed by all who knew her.
