Gracie Newton Compton

Gracie Newton Compton of Scottsburg, VA passed away August 13, 2020.  She was born in Halifax County, VA on October 30, 1921 and was 98 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Frank Walker Newton and the late Mary Susan Terry Newton. She was married to the late Hansen Wilson “Booster” Compton of 48 years.

She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and Eastern Star.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Don Bryant officiating.

The family would like to that the members of Bethel Baptist Church and the Bethel Community for the cards and visits with Gracie while her stay at Woodview. Also, a thank you to Sentara Woodview Nursing Home for their care she received.
