Gregory John Tiver

Gregory John Tiver of Nathalie, Virginia passed away peacefully on May 10, 2024 at his home surrounded by family.

Greg was born in Medford, NJ, where he grew up and worked with his family at the Tiver Farm.   It was there he found his love for farming.  While living in Lumberton he volunteered for the Lumberton Emergency Squad and was a life member.  He also partnered with his brother, Bill, in their company Tiver Brothers, Inc.  In his spare time, he enjoyed time spent on the boat, family gatherings, and spending time in the Florida Keys.  In 2014 he moved to Virginia and once again became a full-time farmer with his wife.  There he enjoyed farming, time in his shop, traveling and making friends in his community.  He loved life, red tractors, he loved making people laugh, and most of all time spent with his family, being a grandfather was above all his favorite.

Greg has left behind the people he loved the most.  His wife, Julie Tiver, his children: Michelle Tiver, Amy and Terry Erbe, Rebecca and Niluka Abeyawardene, Kathleen and Andrew Thomas, Billy and Cait Foster, Dana and Jon Wotring, and Christie Foster.  He also left behind 19 grandchildren that he took the most pride and joy in: Zachary, Nicole, Anthony, Joseph, Addyson, Alexa, Oliver, Owen, Lizzie, William (Jr.), Austin, Matthew, Emma, Brayden, Ethan, Nathaniel, Kaiden, Hunter, and Mariah.  Also left behind are his siblings: William and Nancy Tiver, Veronica and Francis Metkus, and Donald Cornelius.  He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He has gone to join those left before him: his Parent, Alfred and Grace Tiver and his sister Jacqueline Cornelius.

Greg’s wishes were simple.  He wanted no sad services.  Remember his laugh, smile, and funny stories.  There will be a celebration in his honor at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his honor to the charity of your choice.
