Mrs. Hazel Osborne Compton of Halifax, VA passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019 at Sentara Regional Hospital. She was born in Halifax County on February 6, 1927 and was 92 years old. She was the daughter of the late Shellie Banks Osborne and the late Annie Steube Osborne and was married to the late Samuel Compton for 70 years. She was a member of Dan River Baptist Church and was a 30-year employee of JP Stevens. She also was an avid walker and bowler.
